Ivorian, Alice Gbelia, lives in Switzerland and is the founder of Ayokadeco.com - an online prints store that features exclusive the work of black artists and visual illustrators from all over the world. Many years back, she realised that finding African art at an affordable price outside of Africa was a challenge. Her entrepreneurial instincts and belief in inclusiveness kicked in, leading her to launch Ayok'a, an online platform that showcases affordable art by African artists.
Alice was educated in France (she has a post graduate degree in Information Management), and her first job was working as an Intranet Officer for Motul (a company that sells engine oil for motorcycles and cars)! Not really glamorous, she says, but it gave her a taste for web technologies.
