Dangote's US$300m DRC Cement Plant to Create 1000 Jobs
Africa’s largest cement company, Dangote Cement Plc, on November 23 scored a large win for the on-going drive for economic growth in Africa when it formally opened its 1.5 million metric tonnes per annum (mtpa) capacity cement plant in Mfila, Congo Brazzaville (DRC).
Joined at the launch by a thrilled government and local citizens, the new plant is estimated at $500 million, and is the largest cement plant in the DRC. It has the potential to create about 1000 direct (as well as thousands of several other indirect) jobs.
The company rolled out its first bag of cement in August 2017
This will be the 10th country in Africa where Dangote has established a fully operational cement production plant. Other countries include Ethiopia, Cameroun and Senegal.
