Nigeria's Temie Giwa-Tubosun snags backing for her life-saving startup, Lifebank

Since its launch two years ago, LifeBank, a blood delivery service, has moved in excess of 9,080 pints of blood to hospitals across Lagos (Nigeria) - a vital service that has earned the startup approxinately $100,000 in revenues.
LifeBank was founded by Temie Giwa-Tubosun, and has quickly earned its reputation as a smart blood system that saves lives by speeding up blood donations and deliveries to hospitals.
Now looking to expand its reach to the country's Northern region - Nigeria's capital, Abuja, as well as Kaduna - the startup has secured crucial funding worth $200,000 to drive its growth for the next 18 months.
Investors in the round include EchoVC Partners, a Lagos-based venture capital firm and Fola Laoye, an angel investor with over 20 years of experience in Nigeria’s healthcare industry. The round also saw participation from Co-Creation Hub, Nigeria’s leading tech hub where LifeBank has been incubated since launch, through its Growth Capital fund which targets social innovation startups.
